Walk Père Lachaise’s cobbled paths with a licensed guide and uncover stories behind the graves of Paris’s celebrated artists and writers.
About this tour
Explore Père Lachaise, one of Paris’s most remarkable open-air museums, on a guided walk through its tree-lined avenues and cobbled paths. This 120-minute tour visits a cemetery known for its funerary art and as the final resting place of artists, musicians, writers, and historical figures.
Follow a licensed guide through the grounds and hear stories and anecdotes about the people buried here. Along the way, see the graves of Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf, Jim Morrison, Molière, Chopin, Isadora Duncan, and Gertrude Stein, among others. The tour brings together history, art, and the lives behind the names, with a small group capped at 15 guests.
Your walk begins at the cemetery’s north entrance. Wear comfortable shoes for the paths, and note that the tour is not recommended for people with walking disabilities. Discover the stories that make this Paris landmark more than a resting place on a Père Lachaise Cemetery Walking Tour in Paris.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.91 from 139 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 8.3. Top 9% in Paris means it ranks in the top 9% of tours in Paris by this score.
