Take your camera off automatic in a hands-on Paris photography course, with outdoor practice and expert feedback over four hours.

About this tour

Learn to take your camera off automatic during this hands-on Paris photography course. Designed for beginners, the four-hour outdoor session helps you understand how to communicate your creative choices to your camera and capture the image you have in mind.

With your device in hand, move between clear explanations, practical exercises, and immediate feedback from a photography trainer. You will learn to adjust aperture, shutter speed, and sensor sensitivity, then put those controls to work on portraits, landscapes, and moving or still subjects. Written course support and video materials provided after the session help you revisit what you learned, and you will receive a diploma at the end.

The Paris photography course meets beneath the Petit Arc de Triomphe at the Tuileries Garden entrance on the Louvre Pyramid side. Bring your own camera, arrive ready to experiment, and leave with practical skills to keep using long after the session.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.76 from 117 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.8.
