Explore the Pompidou Centre’s bold exterior and nearby statues with a private art historian guide on this 90-minute Paris tour.

About this tour

See the Pompidou Centre from the outside on a private 90-minute tour in central Paris. Known as the “Notre Dame of Pipes,” this striking building turns its structure into a spectacle, with exposed pipes and bold modern design that make the architecture itself a work of art.

An art historian guide leads you around the exterior and the statues nearby, sharing the story of one of Paris’s most distinctive landmarks. The centre is closed for reconstruction until 2030, so the tour does not enter the building or visit its collection. Instead, take time to appreciate the architecture and its place in the city’s modern art landscape. The private format offers a focused experience, and the tour guarantees you’ll skip the long lines.

Join this Paris Pompidou Museum Exterior Private Guided Tour to see the landmark from a fresh perspective. Meet your guide beside the fountain closest to the museum, where you’ll spot their red canvas tote bag.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 16 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.9. Top 14% in Paris means it ranks in the top 14% of tours in Paris by this score.
