Explore Sainte-Chapelle’s luminous stained glass and Gothic history on a 45-minute guided tour in a small group of up to 10.

About this tour

Step inside one of Paris’s most remarkable Gothic landmarks and watch its stained-glass walls glow with color. On this 45-minute Paris Sainte-Chapelle guided tour, an official guide introduces the island’s early history and the events that made it the heart of the city.

Explore the 13th-century chapel, built to house sacred relics, and learn about King Louis IX, his role in the Crusades, and the importance of relics in medieval life. Along the way, hear stories and anecdotes that bring the Middle Ages into focus. Your reservation and small-group format make it easier to appreciate the architecture and details, with no more than 10 participants.

Meet your guide outside the chapel and follow the group entrance instructions before heading inside. The upper chapel is reached by a narrow spiral staircase with a few steps. How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.46 from 127 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 5.2.
