Explore Paris’s historic covered passages with three costumed actors as you follow a theatrical investigation into an 1870 murder.
About this tour
Step into the storied covered passages of Paris, where glass roofs, old-world storefronts, and a theatrical murder mystery bring the neighborhood to life. Three costumed actors lead this French-language adventure, inviting you to see these historic arcades through the eyes of their most intriguing characters.
The story follows Jean-Jacques de la Tour, a celebrated guide investigating the unsolved 1870 murder of Nathaniel de Cantaussel in Passage Jouffroy. As you explore, you’ll encounter figures including the flamboyant Mademoiselle Éclaircie, the scoundrel Blaise, and a mysterious actress from the Théâtre des Variétés. Their scenes weave local history and anecdotes into an unusual walk through the passages.
Meet in front of the main gates of Palais Brongniart at 16 Place de la Bourse. With a live French-speaking cast and admission included, this Paris theatrical covered passages tour offers a lively way to discover the district. Join the investigation and experience Paris’s historic arcades from a fresh perspective.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.93 from 14 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Paris
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.5. Top 24% in Paris means it ranks in the top 24% of tours in Paris by this score.
