Follow Paris’s trail of art thefts and scandals, from the Mona Lisa heist to Marie Antoinette, on a cinematic two-hour walking tour.
About this tour
Paris’s grand landmarks hold stories far darker than their polished façades suggest. On this Paris True Crime Walking Tour, follow the trail of art thefts and scandals through the historic center, beginning at the Louvre. An expert storyteller brings the cases to life with cinematic, chronological narration, including the 1911 Mona Lisa heist and the Diamond Necklace Affair that helped tarnish Marie Antoinette’s reputation.
Walk past sites such as the Palais Royal as the stories connect art, crime, and revolution. The route culminates at Hôtel Drouot, the heart of the art market, with tales that also reach into more recent history, including a 2010 museum robbery. Along the way, discover how audacious thefts and public scandals left their mark on the city.
The two-hour experience is conducted in English and explores Paris on foot, so expect cobblestones, uneven paths, hills, and stairs. Meet your guide at the arch in front of Carrousel du Louvre 15 minutes before departure. Choose this Paris True Crime Walking Tour for a compelling new perspective on the city’s celebrated art and history.

How this score is calculated
This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.
How the score works
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
