Explore Rome’s main sights and hidden gems on a private, customizable drive from Civitavecchia, with ship pickup and drop-off.

About this tour

Discover Rome on a private driving tour that gives you the freedom to shape your day. Your local driver picks you up beneath your ship in Civitavecchia at 8 a.m. and takes you into the Eternal City, where you can see its main sights and seek out lesser-known gems along the way.

Travel in an air-conditioned sedan or minivan, with live commentary from your driver while you’re on board. The tour is customizable: request extra stops at booking, or arrange more time for lunch or to visit sites. Walking is involved, and the order of stops may vary. Your driver is not a licensed tour guide and can explain attractions only from inside the vehicle; guides inside sites are not included.

After a full day exploring Rome at your own pace, return to your ship by 5 p.m. Choose this Civitavecchia Rome Driving Tour for a flexible way to make the most of your time ashore.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.1. Top 48% in Rome means it ranks in the top 48% of tours in Rome by this score.
