Explore Orvieto and Civita di Bagnoregio at your own pace on a private countryside drive with an English-speaking chauffeur.

About this tour

Leave the city behind for a private drive through the relaxing countryside of Lazio and Umbria. This 9-hour Orvieto and Civita di Bagnoregio self-tour pairs comfortable transportation with time to explore two striking hilltop destinations at your own pace.

Begin in Orvieto, perched above a volcanic formation, where you can wander the town and enjoy lunch on your own. Then continue to Civita di Bagnoregio, an ancient village set dramatically above the surrounding valleys. The driver stays with the vehicle while you explore independently; there is no tour guide. Vehicles cannot reach the footbridge, and parking is on the opposite hill, so expect extensive uphill and downhill walking to visit the village.

Private transportation in a deluxe, air-conditioned Mercedes-Benz, bottled water, and an English-speaking professional chauffeur are included. Admission tickets and lunch are not. Share your hotel name and address when booking pickup. Choose this Orvieto and Civita di Bagnoregio self-tour for a flexible countryside escape, with the freedom to discover each place at your own pace.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.1. Top 48% in Rome means it ranks in the top 48% of tours in Rome by this score.
