Explore the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, then enter the Colosseum after a multimedia introduction to ancient Rome.

About this tour

See ancient Rome unfold from its civic heart to its most famous arena. Begin at the local partner’s office, redeem your voucher, and watch a 30-minute multimedia video that sets the scene for your visit. Then explore the Roman Forum, where everyday Romans once lived, and pause at the tomb of Julius Caesar among the ruins.

Continue to Palatine Hill, traditionally regarded as the site where Rome was founded and later home to emperors and kings. Finish at the Colosseum, entering approximately two hours after your meeting-point time. Admission covers the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill, while the archaeological park visit is unguided, giving you time to explore at your own pace. The experience also lists an English-language city walking tour through Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, and Trevi Fountain; Pantheon access depends on the option selected.

This Rome Colosseum and Ancient Rome access experience pairs landmark entry with a vivid introduction to the city’s past. Bring the original ID used for your booking, then set out to discover Rome’s ancient world.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 3.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.0.
