Explore the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum on a relaxed three-hour Rome tour with a licensed guide and clear headset commentary.

About this tour

Explore ancient landmarks and vivid Roman history on a Rome Colosseum and Ancient Rome group tour. Over three hours, a licensed guide leads you through the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum, sharing stories of gladiators, emperors, and Roman engineering along the way. The relaxed pace leaves room to take in the sites and ask questions, while headsets help you hear the commentary clearly.

Depending on the option selected, your visit begins inside the Colosseum, where you can picture the spectacles that once filled its arena and admire views from above. Continue to Palatine Hill, associated with Rome’s origins and imperial residences, then descend into the Roman Forum, once a center of political, religious, and everyday life. An external walking tour option views the sights from outside and does not include Colosseum entry. Arena access is not included in any option.

Choose the Rome Colosseum and Ancient Rome group tour that suits your visit, and discover the city’s ancient heart with an expert guide. Bring identification matching the names supplied at booking to help ensure entry.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.73 from 55 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.7.
