Explore the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, Colosseum, and more on an 8-hour private Rome tour with guides and comfortable transport.

About this tour

See Rome’s celebrated landmarks in one day, moving from the Vatican’s remarkable art to the ancient heart of the city. This 8-hour private tour pairs an English-speaking driver with dedicated guides for the Vatican Museums and the Colosseum, with travel in an air-conditioned Mercedes or Tesla.

Explore the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, then continue to St. Peter’s Basilica when tickets allow. Your route also takes in the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Circus Maximus, bringing together the city’s artistic and archaeological treasures in a single outing. Tickets and bottled water are included, while lunch and gratuities are not.

A comfortable vehicle helps connect the sights throughout the day, and the private format gives your group a dedicated experience. Vatican skip-the-line tickets depend on availability, and entry to St. Peter’s Basilica cannot be guaranteed. Bring valid ID that matches your booking name. Discover Rome’s essential sights on this Colosseum and Vatican Museums private tour.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 13 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.8. Top 17% in Rome means it ranks in the top 17% of tours in Rome by this score.
