About this tour

Stand where gladiators once faced the roar of the crowd on this 75-minute Rome Colosseum Arena Tour. With a small group and an official licensed guide, you’ll enter the Colosseum through its arena level and hear about the monument from the heart of the action. Radio headsets are provided when a group has more than six people, helping you follow the guide’s commentary.

Your Colosseum ticket also grants self-guided admission to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, so you can continue exploring these ancient sites at your own pace. The underground level is not included. Bring valid identification for every visitor, and make sure names match the booking; timed entry is strict, so arrive 15 minutes early at the meeting point in front of Caffè Roma on Largo Gaetana Agnesi.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.62 from 149 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 5.9.
