About this tour

Step onto the arena floor and see ancient Rome from the heart of the Colosseum. This 90-minute Rome Colosseum Arena Tour pairs an expert English-speaking guide with time to explore the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill independently.

Meet your guide near the Colosseo metro station, then enter the Colosseum and walk across its arena floor. Dedicated audio headsets help you follow the guide’s stories as you take in the monument. After the guided visit, continue at your own pace through the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, where the remains of ancient public life and imperial Rome await. Choose a group size of 10, 15, or 24 participants.

Bring identification that matches the name on your booking, and allow extra time for possible security delays. The itinerary order can change, and occasional closures may affect access. Book this Rome Colosseum Arena Tour for a focused introduction to the city’s most iconic ancient sites.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.97 from 75 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 8.7. Top 6% in Rome means it ranks in the top 6% of tours in Rome by this score.
