Hear stories of gladiators and ancient Rome on a guided Colosseum visit, with an option to access the arena.

About this tour

Step into the story of ancient Rome on a guided visit to the Colosseum, where the scale of the arena and the tales behind it bring the past into focus. An expert guide traces the monument’s origins and construction, then shares stories of gladiators, wild animals, and those condemned to fight or die before the crowds.

This Rome Colosseum Guided Tour offers a guided experience, with a regular option that includes an arena view without access to the arena. You can also choose an option with arena access. The ticket includes the Colosseum reservation fee, and the guide’s explanations help make sense of the landmark as you explore. English-language live guiding is available, and you’ll receive a mobile ticket.

Bring identification that matches the names submitted at booking, and arrive at the meeting point 30 minutes early. Choose your preferred access option and discover the stories that shaped one of Rome’s most enduring landmarks on this Rome Colosseum Guided Tour.

How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
