Rome Colosseum Guided Tour: Underground or Arena, 2 hr

Step into the story of ancient Rome on a Rome Colosseum Guided Tour, with a small-group experience and options that bring you closer to the monument’s most dramatic spaces. Choose a visit to the Underground, the Arena floor, or an evening tour of the illuminated Colosseum’s underground chambers.

A licensed professional guide shares how gladiators, animals, and elaborate sets took part in the spectacles staged here. On the Underground option, explore hidden corridors beneath the arena and learn about the mechanisms used during the games. The Arena floor option offers a view from the place where gladiators fought. For daytime tours, continue your visit independently at the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill; these sites are not included with the Underground by Night option. Headsets help you hear your guide clearly throughout the Colosseum visit.

Meet the team holding a Roman Guides sign in front of Caffè Roma at Via del Colosseo 31, and arrive 15 minutes before your start time. Choose the Rome Colosseum Guided Tour option that fits your interests and see the amphitheater from a memorable perspective.
