Hear the stories of gladiators and ancient Rome on a guided Colosseum tour, with an arena-access ticket option available.
About this tour
Step into the world of ancient Rome on a guided Colosseum tour, where stories of construction, gladiators, and wild-animal contests bring the arena’s past into focus. A local expert guide leads the experience in your language, sharing how the monument came to be and what unfolded within its walls. Choose the arena-access option if you want the ticket that includes entry to this area.
Your booking includes Colosseum admission and a reservation fee. The standard entrance ticket is valued at €18 per person; the ticket with arena access is valued at €24 per person. Meet your coordinator, identifiable by a purple uniform, at the designated meeting point. Keep in mind that crowd limits can cause delays, even with a reservation. Bring identification that matches the names on your booking, and travel light: backpacks, bulky bags, luggage, glass containers, and several other items are not permitted.
Discover the stories behind one of Rome’s defining landmarks with a guide who makes its history vivid. Book your Rome Colosseum tour with arena access if you’d like that option included.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 3.00 from 3 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.9.
