Explore the Colosseum with a guide, then discover the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill independently on this 150-minute Rome tour.

About this tour

Step into ancient Rome on a guided Colosseum visit, then continue to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill at your own pace. This 150-minute experience begins at the Colosseum, where your guide brings the vast amphitheater’s history to life and leads you inside. Take in the arena and imagine the spectacles once staged at the heart of the Roman Empire.

From the Colosseum, continue to the entrance of the Roman Forum. Follow the Via Sacra through the former center of Rome’s political, social, and religious life, then explore the Forum independently. The visit also includes Palatine Hill, traditionally linked to Rome’s founding and offering sweeping views across the city. Your guide provides information about both sites but does not accompany you inside them.

This Rome Colosseum tour combines guided context with time to discover two landmark sites on your own. Book your visit and experience the layers of ancient Rome firsthand.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.33 from 6 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.8.
