Explore the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill with a live guide, and choose optional access to the historic Arena Floor.

About this tour

See ancient Rome through the Colosseum’s monumental arches, then follow the story of the city into the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. This 3-hour Rome Colosseum Tour includes a live English-speaking guide and entry to the Colosseum’s first and second levels, with visits to the Forum and Palatine Hill.

Choose optional Arena access to step onto the floor where gladiators once fought, entering through the historic Gladiators’ Gate. Without the Arena option, enjoy the upper levels and panoramic views across the monument and its surroundings. Your route may begin at the Forum or the Colosseum, and security checks can affect entry times. The guide provides entry tickets on the day of the tour.

A valid passport or ID matching each booking name is required, so arrive early with your documents ready. Meet at the lower-level exit of Colosseo Metro station, across from the Colosseum. Book this Rome Colosseum Tour to explore the ancient landmarks with a guide and choose the experience that suits you.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.16 from 222 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 4.0.
