See Rome before or after your cruise with a private vehicle tour, English-speaking driver, live commentary, and luggage kept on board.

About this tour

See Rome before or after your cruise with a private tour and transfer designed to keep your plans and luggage together. Travel in a Mercedes with an English-speaking driver, and enjoy live commentary as you take in the city from the vehicle. The driver is not a licensed guide, so commentary is limited to what can be shared on board.

For the pre-cruise option, pickup is at your Rome accommodation at 9 AM. Spend four hours touring Rome, then continue to Civitavecchia cruise port; the transfer takes approximately 1.5 hours. For the post-cruise option, meet your driver at the ship’s pier at 8:30 AM and travel to your hotel, with drop-off at approximately 2 PM. Your luggage stays with you in the vehicle while you sightsee.

This Rome cruise transfer and city tour offers a practical way to fit sightseeing around your sailing schedule. Choose the pre- or post-cruise option that suits your itinerary and enjoy a smoother connection between the city and the port.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 6 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.4. Top 26% in Rome means it ranks in the top 26% of tours in Rome by this score.
