Explore Rome’s landmarks and hidden gems by private minivan, with hotel pickup and a customizable half-day or full-day route.

About this tour

Discover Rome from the comfort of a private, air-conditioned minivan, with a local driver at the wheel. This Rome driving tour pairs the city’s best-known sights with lesser-known gems, while pickup and drop-off at your accommodation make getting around simple.

Choose a half-day tour of 4 hours or a full-day tour of 8 hours. The route is customizable: request additional stops or more time for lunch or sightseeing when you book. You’ll hear live commentary on board, but your driver is not a licensed guide and can explain attractions only from inside the vehicle. Walking is involved, and the order of stops may vary.

See the Eternal City at your own pace and shape the outing around the places you most want to experience. Book your Rome driving tour and make the city your own.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 9 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.6. Top 21% in Rome means it ranks in the top 21% of tours in Rome by this score.
