About this tour

See Rome’s essential sights in a single day on a private tour designed for travelers short on time. Over seven hours, an English-speaking driver-guide takes you between 12 key highlights in an air-conditioned Mercedes, sharing informative insights along the way.

The experience focuses on the exteriors of the city’s landmarks, with stops for photographs, explanations, and time to explore. Your driver-guide can also offer local recommendations for food and shopping. If street closures from events such as marathons or strikes affect the route, some stops may be replaced with other ticket-free attractions. The driver may also customize the itinerary with additional spots that do not require tickets.

This Rome Highlights Private Tour offers a comfortable way to take in the city’s character without spending the day navigating on your own. Choose your date and discover Rome’s most memorable sights from the road.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.95 from 307 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 9.0. Top 4% in Rome means it ranks in the top 4% of tours in Rome by this score.
