Explore Rome’s iconic sights on a flexible private tour with door-to-door pickup, local stories, and time to discover at your own pace.

About this tour

Discover Rome on a private 8-hour sightseeing tour shaped around your interests and schedule. With door-to-door pickup and an English-speaking local driver, you can set the pace, choose your stops, and decide which landmarks to explore inside or admire from outside.

Travel through ancient Rome to see the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Circus Maximus, then continue to Piazza Venezia, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and Piazza Navona. Depending on your preferences, you can also visit the Spanish Steps, wander through Trastevere, or take in panoramic views from Janiculum Hill. Along the way, your driver shares local stories, historical context, and practical recommendations. Drivers do not enter museums or archaeological areas, leaving you free to explore independently.

A private vehicle, onboard Wi-Fi, and water make it easy to move between sights without a fixed group schedule. Rome Highlights Private Tour gives you room to linger or keep moving as the day unfolds. Choose your stops and enjoy Rome at your own pace.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 3.50 from 2 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.9.
