Meet a Roman leatherworker, customize a premium leather accessory, and take home a keepsake you made yourself in a hands-on workshop.

About this tour

Step into a working artisan studio and discover the craft behind Rome’s beautiful leather goods. In this 150-minute, hands-on workshop, you’ll meet a local leatherworker and learn the basics of leather design before creating an accessory of your own.

Choose a premium leather item, such as a wallet, pouch, or keychain, then personalize it with your preferred color, stitching, and initials. Traditional tools and materials are provided, and your artisan host offers guidance as you work from start to finish. You’ll leave with a useful, one-of-a-kind piece made by your own hands, along with a glimpse into a craft practiced in Rome every day.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 5 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.4. Top 28% in Rome means it ranks in the top 28% of tours in Rome by this score.
