Explore Monti after dark, hear Rome’s forbidden stories, and sample Italian drinks on a lively guided night out with fellow travelers.

About this tour

Discover Rome after dark on a social night out that blends local history, neighborhood character, and Italian drinks. The Rome Night Tipsy Tour & Bar Crawl begins in Piazza della Madonna dei Monti, where a local guide leads the group through Monti, a lively neighborhood with a former red-light district past.

As you walk, hear stories of scandal, bloody power struggles, and the city’s more forbidden history, while passing famous Roman monuments by night. The planned route includes priority service at Rome hotspots and stops for authentic drinks such as local wine, spritz, Carpano Classico, sambuca, and limoncello. Alcohol-free options are available, so sober travelers can join the experience too. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to connect with fellow visitors and see a different side of the Eternal City.

The Rome Night Tipsy Tour & Bar Crawl lasts 180 minutes. Meet your guide by the fountain in Piazza della Madonna dei Monti and arrive 10 minutes before departure; late arrivals are not eligible for refunds. Come ready for a spirited evening of stories, streets, and Roman nightlife.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.96 from 116 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 8.7. Top 5% in Rome means it ranks in the top 5% of tours in Rome by this score.
