Explore the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill with a private guide, and choose an arena-access or interactive family option.

About this tour

Discover ancient Rome on a private tour of the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill, led by a knowledgeable guide who can answer your questions along the way. With guaranteed entry, you can focus on the stories and landmarks rather than navigating the archaeological park alone.

Your visit includes a guided exploration of the Colosseum and the surrounding sites. Choose the arena-access option to enter the Colosseum arena floor, or select the interactive Family Option for a tour designed to keep children engaged alongside adults. Note that arena floor and Palatine Hill access are not included with the Family Option. The order of the sites may vary according to your scheduled entry slot, and start times can change with ticket availability.

This 180-minute Rome private Colosseum tour brings the city’s ancient landmarks together with the flexibility of a private guide. Bring photo ID that matches the names supplied at booking, then meet beneath the red Metro M sign at the upper-level entrance of Colosseo station. Choose the option that suits your group and experience Rome’s archaeological heart up close.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.97 from 556 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 9.4. Top 2% in Rome means it ranks in the top 2% of tours in Rome by this score.
