About this tour

See Rome through the rhythms of daily life, not just its famous landmarks. On this private walking tour, a passionate local guide introduces you to the neighborhoods, gathering places, and traditions that give the city its character. Before you meet, share your interests and must-sees in an online personalization form. Your host will use your answers to shape a route around what you enjoy, whether that means history, food, hidden gems, or cultural experiences. As you explore, hear local perspectives and personal stories, and get recommendations to help you make the most of your time in Rome. Choose a flexible duration and start time when booking. Your host can meet you at central accommodation or at a central landmark. This is a walking experience, not a private vehicle tour; public transportation or local taxis may be used between sites at additional cost. Discover a more personal side of the city with a Rome Private Custom Walking Tour, and leave with a deeper connection to the places and people that make Rome feel alive.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.44 from 9 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.7.
