Explore Rome’s iconic sights on a private 4- or 8-hour drive, with hotel pickup, an English-speaking driver, and photo stops.

About this tour

See Rome’s celebrated landmarks in the comfort of a private vehicle, with pickup and drop-off at your accommodation. Choose a 4-hour highlights tour or an 8-hour outing, and travel with a local English-speaking driver who shares general commentary along the way.

Your route can take in the Colosseum, Circus Maximus, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Venice Square, Piazza Navona, St. Peter’s Square and Basilica, and Janiculum Hill. Stop for photos as you go, and enjoy the flexibility of a private tour rather than a large bus. The air-conditioned vehicle can bring you close to major sights, helping you spend less time walking between stops and more time taking in the city.

This Rome Private Driver Tour offers a relaxed way to experience the Eternal City at your own pace. Drivers remain with the vehicle and are not licensed walking guides, so entry tickets and guided visits inside attractions are not included. Choose the duration that suits your plans and discover Rome from the road, one memorable stop at a time.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.1. Top 48% in Rome means it ranks in the top 48% of tours in Rome by this score.
