About this tour

Explore Rome on a private shore excursion that begins right at your cruise ship dock in Civitavecchia. An English- and Spanish-speaking professional driver welcomes you to an air-conditioned vehicle with Wi-Fi and space to travel comfortably, with complimentary bottled water for each guest.

Your day is flexible: share your interests and the driver can suggest routes and must-see sights, from celebrated landmarks to lesser-known corners. The itinerary is tailored to your preferences, so you can explore at your own pace while leaving the transportation logistics to your driver. Pickup and return are directly at the ship, helping make the most of your port stop.

A private official guide for five hours can be arranged in advance. Optional Colosseum and Vatican Museums tickets may be available, subject to availability; tickets, meals, snacks, and gratuities are not included. How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.1. Top 48% in Rome means it ranks in the top 48% of tours in Rome by this score.
