About this tour

Step into the soaring spaces and remarkable art of St. Peter's Basilica with entry for your selected time. This Rome St. Peter's Basilica entry experience lets you choose the option that suits your visit: Basilica access, an English or Spanish guided tour, or a self-guided Dome visit by lift. With the Dome option, the lift takes you to the terraces, then 320 steps lead to the top. No live guide or audio guide is included with this option, and at least two adults are required.

Collect your tickets at Gyash Tours, Vicolo del Farinone 23, 15 minutes before your booked time. Every visitor must pass through mandatory airport-style security, which cannot be skipped; waits may exceed 30 minutes, and the Vatican reserves up to 40 minutes for checks. Wear clothing that covers your knees and shoulders, and make sure each ticket name matches the visitor's identification. Areas open to visitors can change during religious services. Choose your preferred option and experience Rome St. Peter's Basilica entry at your own pace.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.01 from 531 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 3.0.
