About this tour

Step into the heart of Vatican City on a Rome St. Peter’s Basilica Guided Tour, where sacred spaces and Renaissance masterpieces tell centuries of history. A certified guide leads you through the Basilica, sharing the stories and symbolism behind its remarkable art and architecture.

See Michelangelo’s Pietà, Bernini’s Baldachin, the papal altars, and the Tomb of Saint Peter. A radio system helps you hear the guide clearly as you explore. Choose the Dome option to continue upward: take the lift to the terrace level, then climb the remaining steps toward the summit for panoramic views over Rome. A private live guide is available with the private option, which also offers hotel pickup.

Your reserved time slot helps shape a focused visit to one of the city’s most significant landmarks. Choose the option that suits your plans and discover St. Peter’s Basilica with a guide who brings its art, faith, and history into view.

How this score is calculated

This tour has no TourTruth score yet: Viator doesn't show a usable rating for it. It gets a score as soon as a provider lists one.

How the score works
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10. Tours without a usable provider rating are not scored.
