About this tour

Step into one of Rome’s most iconic landmarks with hosted entry to St. Peter’s Basilica and access to its remarkable Dome. Meet your host at the designated meeting point for a short briefing, then head inside to explore the Basilica at your own pace. Your ticket also grants access to the inside of the Dome, where panoramic views open across Vatican City.

This experience includes entry assistance, but it does not include a licensed guide or skip-the-line access. All visitors must pass through the standard security line, so allow time for the wait. The Dome visit involves physical activity, and a moderate level of fitness is recommended. Wheelchair access is available, and young children can travel in a stroller.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 7 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.5. Top 24% in Rome means it ranks in the top 24% of tours in Rome by this score.
