Explore St. Peter’s Basilica with entry assistance, an audio guide app, and optional Vatican Museums access or an Italian breakfast.

About this tour

Enter St. Peter’s Basilica with meeting-point assistance and take in the art and architecture at the heart of Vatican City. This Rome St. Peter’s Basilica visit is an independent experience, not a guided tour, so you can explore at your own pace with the Basilica audio guide app. Bring your own headphones, and remember that security checks remain mandatory even with reserved entrance; waits can grow during busy periods and religious events.

Admire Michelangelo’s Pietà and Bernini’s Baldachin, then choose an option to add skip-the-line entry to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Museum entry is generally arranged for around two hours after your original booking time. Alternatively, select the breakfast option for a hot drink, cornetto, and juice. The Basilica visit lasts approximately two hours, and modest dress is required: cover your shoulders and knees. Bring valid identification for every participant.

Make your plans for a Rome St. Peter’s Basilica visit, choose the option that suits your day, and discover one of the city’s most remarkable landmarks at your own pace.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.19 from 172 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 4.2.
