Visit the Trevi Fountain’s designated area, then explore the hidden ruins of Vicus Caprarius with an audio guide or expert guide.

About this tour

Pair a visit to the Trevi Fountain with a glimpse of the ancient world beneath Rome. This 60-minute Rome Trevi Fountain and Underground Aqueducts Experience combines access to a designated area of the iconic fountain with a visit to Vicus Caprarius, an archaeological site hidden below the city streets.

Make a wish at the fountain, then explore the underground ruins at your own pace with an interactive audio guide, subject to availability. You can also choose an option with an expert guide leading the underground visit and sharing stories about ancient Rome and its water system. Hosted entry helps bring the two parts of the experience together, while the audio-guided option lets you discover the site independently.

Meet your host near Bar Cafe and Gelateria Angel's House, and arrive on time for the entry process. Choose the format that suits your curiosity and see Rome from its celebrated piazza to its fascinating underground layers.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 3.44 from 9 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.5.
