About this tour
Begin at the Trevi Fountain, where Rome’s Baroque grandeur sets the scene for a journey beneath the city streets. On this 55-minute guided experience, descend 9 meters into Vicus Caprarius, an archaeological site known as the “City of Water.”
Explore its underground passages and three sections with a guide who brings the discoveries to life. See ancient Roman ruins, precious polychrome marble coverings, the famous head of Alessandro Helios, a trove of 800 coins, and spatheia, African amphorae once used to transport oil. Your visit includes reserved entry to Vicus Caprarius and access to the Trevi Fountain; gelato is included if you select that option. Meet at Vicolo del Puttarello 25, with Touristation staff available to assist.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.48 from 405 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 4.7.
