Ride the ancient Appian Way, savor a traditional lunch in Ariccia, and explore Lake Albano and Grottaferrata on a Vespa.

About this tour

Leave the city behind and explore the Roman countryside on a full-day Vespa adventure through Castelli Romani. Follow the ancient Appian Way, a storied route that leads into landscapes shaped by centuries of history and local tradition.

Pause in Ariccia for lunch at a typical fraschetta, where you can taste dishes from Roman culinary tradition. Continue to Lake Albano to discover the Pope’s summer residence, set amid the lake’s enchanting surroundings, then visit the Greek Abbey of Grottaferrata. The experience includes two helmets and practical Vespa equipment, with an official Rome guide available as an option. A vegetarian lunch option can be requested when booking.

This Rome Vespa Tour of Castelli Romani pairs open-road exploration with memorable food and cultural stops. Meet near Termini Station, close to Santa Maria Maggiore Cathedral, and set out for a day beyond the usual city sights.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 6 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.4. Top 26% in Rome means it ranks in the top 26% of tours in Rome by this score.
