About this tour

Turn a visit to St. Peter's Basilica into a family adventure with a 90-minute treasure hunt. In St. Peter's Square, your local guide, the “hunt master,” sets the scene with games and stories about the square's history and architecture. Then head inside the Basilica to follow clues, identify statues and artworks, and answer quizzes about artists including Bernini and Michelangelo. The hunt also takes you beneath the Basilica to see the Tombs of the Popes, bringing its art and history to life through riddles and playful challenges. St. Peter's Basilica family treasure hunt offers an engaging way to explore together while learning along the way. Meet your guide in front of the Euroclero shop. After the hunt, you can climb up to the dome for sweeping views or stay to attend Mass. Gather your family and see how many clues you can solve.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.1. Top 48% in Rome means it ranks in the top 48% of tours in Rome by this score.
