Skip the long lines on a guided Vatican City walking tour through the museums, Raphael’s Rooms, the map galleries, and the Sistine Chapel.

About this tour

Explore the Vatican’s art and history on a three-hour Vatican City walking tour with skip-the-line access and an expert guide. Bypass the long queues and step into the Vatican Museums, where ancient Greek and Roman sculptures set the scene for a remarkable collection.

Follow your guide through Raphael’s Rooms and the Galleries of Tapestries and Maps, then visit the Sistine Chapel. The tour brings the Vatican’s celebrated works into focus with insights from a professional guide, including an art historian. Mobile tickets make entry convenient, while the guided route helps you make the most of your time inside.

Museum areas can close at short notice, in which case your guide will offer an alternative route within the museums. St. Peter’s Basilica may also be inaccessible during the Jubilee; you can try visiting afterward by joining the queue. Choose this Vatican City walking tour to see its landmark art with context and skip the long lines.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.00 from 4 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rome
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.8.
