About this tour
Leave Santa Barbara’s city lights behind and look up at a sky filled with stars. On this Santa Barbara Stargazing Tour, a PhD student guide turns the night sky into a vivid story, sharing expert insight as you explore the cosmos.
Travel by Mercedes Sprinter to a dark-sky location, then take in planets, stars, nebulae, and galaxies through a high-powered telescope. Your guide explains what you’re seeing, while blankets, jackets, cold-weather gear, and complimentary hot drinks help keep you comfortable outdoors. The experience lasts 180 minutes and is suitable for all physical fitness levels.
Meet at the Amtrak Station, where the gray Alta Vista Tours Sprinter van will be parked beside the station building in the lot. How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Santa Barbara
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.1.
