Explore Solvang’s Danish heritage at your own pace with GPS-guided audio, windmills, historic landmarks, and charming streets.

About this tour

Explore Solvang on a self-guided walking tour through a town shaped by Danish heritage. Start on the sidewalk in front of Bit O'Denmark, open the Drives & Detours app, and follow the route at your own pace. GPS-activated audio brings the streets and landmarks to life as you pass windmills, half-timbered shops, and bakeries that have served the community since 1911.

Along the way, discover Old Mission Santa Inés, the Elverhøj Museum, and the Little Mermaid Fountain. The in-app audio guide and route map make it easy to explore independently, pause when something catches your eye, and continue whenever you’re ready. Download the app and tour before setting out, and bring your own smartphone.

Take in Solvang’s Danish character one street at a time with this flexible Solvang self-guided walking tour. Start whenever it suits you and enjoy the town at your own pace.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.00 from 2 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Santa Barbara
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.9.
