Sail Puget Sound on a private Seattle charter with a licensed captain, optional sailing instruction, and room for 4 to 6 guests.

About this tour

Set sail across Puget Sound on a private charter from Seattle, where mountain-framed water and open horizons make the journey as memorable as the destination. With a USCG-licensed captain at the helm, your group of 4 to 6 can settle in and enjoy the scenery or get involved in the sailing.

Choose a newer-model sailboat ranging from 32 to 46 feet, based at Shilshole Bay Marina. No sailing experience is needed. If you’re curious, ask for basic instruction and try skills such as tacking and jibing, or take the helm with your captain’s guidance. Safety gear is provided, and you’re welcome to bring your favorite food and beverages. Multiple boats can be chartered for larger parties.

This Seattle private sailing charter offers an easygoing way to experience Puget Sound at your own pace, whether you want hands-on sailing or a relaxing cruise with your group. Gather your guests and get ready to see the sound from the water.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 2 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Seattle
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.2. Top 42% in Seattle means it ranks in the top 42% of tours in Seattle by this score.
