Hear Gold Rush stories, visit Tormented Valley, and photograph waterfalls and mountain views on a three-hour Skagway sightseeing tour.
About this tour
Explore Skagway’s Gold Rush history and dramatic mountain scenery on a three-hour Skagway Highlights Tour. A knowledgeable guide shares stories as you travel through landscapes shaped by waterfalls, glaciers, and rugged peaks.
Visit the Gold Rush Cemetery and Tormented Valley, a sub-arctic alpine valley where the terrain appears dwarfed and distorted. Along the way, pause for photos at the Welcome to Alaska sign at the summit and the Skagway Overlook, where the town and ships in the inlet create a striking view. A 24-passenger mini-bus with bucket seats and large windows keeps the scenery in sight throughout the ride.
This Skagway Highlights Tour pairs local history with memorable photo stops and sweeping views. Bring the required travel documents, then settle in and discover the landscapes beyond town on a Skagway Highlights Tour.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.44 from 9 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Skagway
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.7.
