Drive from Skagway into the Yukon in your own Jeep, with narrated guidance and the freedom to explore at your own pace.

About this tour

Take the wheel in Skagway and set out for the Yukon on a private self-drive adventure. With your own Jeep Wrangler, you can explore at your pace, away from tour crowds and fixed group schedules.

Your vehicle comes with a GPS-coordinated iPad, an Alaska Murray's guide binder, and a narrated audio guide to accompany the drive. Enjoy the freedom of a rental car with the convenience of guided commentary, and make the day your own. Each Jeep seats up to five, and the price is for the vehicle rather than each passenger. Bring your passport, and make sure the driver has a valid license and insurance that covers rented vehicles. Food and drinks are not included; options are available in Skagway and Carcross, and lunch can be requested.

Choose this Skagway self-drive Yukon tour for a flexible way to experience the road beyond town. Gather your travel companions, prepare for the weather, and head out on your own terms.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.56 from 176 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Skagway
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 5.5.
