Explore Tampa’s Riverwalk at your own pace with offline audio stories about the city’s history, landmarks, and hidden gems.

About this tour

Follow Tampa’s Riverwalk at your own pace, with local stories bringing the city’s waterfront and history to life. This self-guided Tampa walking tour begins at MacDill Park and leads you past scenic stops, Kiley Gardens, and the old railroad bridge.

As GPS-triggered audio plays along the route, hear about Tampa’s founding, its troubles with pirates, conflicts between settlers and Native tribes, and the city’s cigar mafia. Planning tools, route maps, and area previews help you get oriented, while the app lets you pause for photos or a break and pick up where you left off. Download the tour in advance, then follow the route offline without Wi-Fi or cellular service. There’s no live guide or group to keep pace with, and your access never expires, so you can revisit the stories on a future trip.

Bring your phone and headphones, and explore Tampa’s Riverwalk on your own terms. Check attraction hours before setting out; entrance fees are not included.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 1 review. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Tampa
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.1.
