About this tour

Step into the heart of American government on a Washington Capitol and Library of Congress tour, where grand architecture and national history meet. With a professional licensed guide leading a small group, explore three landmark institutions on a three-hour walking visit.

Begin at the U.S. Capitol, admiring its neoclassical exterior and spectacular dome as your guide shares the story of Congress. Continue inside the Library of Congress, one of the world’s largest libraries, and discover its remarkable architecture and historic treasures. The route also visits the Supreme Court, where imposing columns and sculpted friezes frame stories of the nation’s judicial branch. Admission to the Capitol and Library of Congress is included, and the small-group format offers a more personal experience. Live guides are available in Portuguese, French, and Italian.

How this score is calculated

This tour scores 4.79 on Viator and 3.99 on GetYourGuide. Ratings on these sites cluster near the top of the 5-star scale, so we compare each one with all other ratings on the same site before combining them.

How the score works and rating distribution in Washington DC
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.7.
