Ride along the Potomac to Mount Vernon for a guided mansion visit and an audio tour of George Washington’s historic estate.

About this tour

Travel the scenic Potomac waterfront on a private Mount Vernon tour from Washington, DC, then step into the home of George Washington. This four-hour outing pairs private transportation with time to explore the historic estate.

At Mount Vernon, join a guided tour of the mansion and use the audio tour to discover the estate grounds. Private, air-conditioned transportation, bottled water, and pickup and drop-off are provided. Mansion tour admission is not included, so plan for that additional cost.

The tour meets on the sidewalk at Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill. Service animals are allowed, but infants must sit on an adult’s lap. Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness; the experience is not recommended for those with poor cardiovascular health. How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 3.83 from 6 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Washington DC
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 6.7.
