Explore Colonial Williamsburg’s holiday decorations, historic streets, and Christmastide stories on a private 90-minute walking tour.

About this tour

See Colonial Williamsburg dressed for the holidays on a private 90-minute walking tour. Starting near the Williamsburg Inn, follow Duke of Gloucester Street past historic homes and 18th-century architecture, where fresh greenery and handcrafted decorations bring the season to life.

Your certified guide shares the stories behind wreaths and garlands made with natural materials such as fruits, seed pods, oyster shells, and feathers. Learn about the decoration contest divisions and hear how plantation owners, middling families, and military communities marked Christmastide during the Revolutionary War. Traditional ginger cake or African holiday biscuits add a festive taste along the way. Tours before 7 p.m. may also offer a warm drink, depending on availability.

This Williamsburg Christmas Decorations Walking Tour offers a personal way to take in the historic district’s seasonal details and traditions. How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.88 from 25 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Williamsburg
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 7.4. Top 22% in Williamsburg means it ranks in the top 22% of tours in Williamsburg by this score.
