Take an early-morning flight over the Rio Grande River Valley, with a daily launch site chosen to suit the weather and flying conditions.

About this tour

See the Rio Grande River Valley from above on a flight shaped by the day’s weather. Ballooning depends on conditions, so the launch site is chosen daily from a broad flying area to improve the chances of a successful flight and a slow, soft landing.

Plan for a 210-minute experience and arrive one hour before sunrise, according to New Mexico time. From the meeting point, you’ll travel to the launch site, meet your pilot, and return to your vehicle afterward. Choose a private or group flight, and enjoy mimosas or a nonalcoholic option; an air-conditioned vehicle is also provided. Guests must be able to climb into the basket and stand continuously for an hour. Children under 5 cannot ride, and weight limitations may apply.

Book your Rio Grande River Valley flight for an early-morning perspective on the landscape, with the launch location selected to suit the conditions.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.48 from 172 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Albuquerque
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 5.0.
