About this tour
Discover the Big Island on your own terms with five self-guided audio driving tours. This bundle pairs GPS-triggered stories and directions with the freedom to explore volcanic landscapes, rainforest routes, coastal panoramas, and historic sites at your pace.
Choose from tours of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, the North Island Jungle Adventure Loop, Kohala Coast backcountry, the South Island’s coastal route, and the Kona Big Kahuna Loop. As you drive, narration, travel tips, and music play automatically, while offline maps help you navigate without continuous Wi-Fi or data. Recommendations point you toward local activities and restaurants, and you can pause for a hike, linger at a lookout, or skip stops that do not suit your plans.
Download the tours in the Shaka Guide app before you go, then launch each route from its starting point. The Volcanoes National Park tour begins at the park entrance. Tours do not expire, so spread your adventures across multiple days if you wish. Set out and experience Big Island audio driving tours with the flexibility to make the journey your own.

How this score is calculated
This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.47 from 149 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.
How the score works and rating distribution in Big Island of Hawaii
- Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
- Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
- Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
- The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 5.1.
