Ride through the winter night on a guided Fairbanks snowmobile tour, watching the sky for the aurora and bringing your camera along.

About this tour

Set out into the winter night on a Fairbanks snowmobile tour designed to make the wait for the aurora part of the adventure. Instead of staying in one place and craning your neck toward the sky, ride through the darkness and keep watch for the northern lights.

Your professional guide leads the outing on a new Arctic Cat or Skidoo snowmobile, with winter gear and clothing provided. The tour lasts 180 minutes, giving you time to enjoy the ride and look for a glimpse of the aurora. Bring a camera and tripod so you can capture the night sky if the lights appear.

Meet at the cabin at the provided map pin, then continue to the end of the long driveway to reach it. Drivers must be at least 16 years old. Book this Fairbanks snowmobile tour for an active way to spend an aurora-viewing night.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 25 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Fairbanks
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 8.2. Top 15% in Fairbanks means it ranks in the top 15% of tours in Fairbanks by this score.
