Track winter wildlife across Jackson Hole with a private naturalist guide, lunch, field optics, and an optional sleigh ride when available.

About this tour

Follow the winter wildlife gathering across Jackson Hole on a private safari led by a professional naturalist. Mule deer, elk, moose, bison, bighorn sheep, coyotes, foxes, eagles, swans, and even wolves may appear as animals move into the valley in search of food.

Your 8-hour outing combines time in the field with private transportation, UHD binoculars, and spotting scopes to help you take in the landscape and look for wildlife. After a full morning, pause for lunch at a local eatery, then head back out for more sightings. When available, an optional horse-drawn sleigh ride travels through the National Elk Refuge, offering a chance to see the region’s large wild elk herd. Hotel or lodging pickup and drop-off, snacks, and hot and cold drinks are included.

Make the most of the season with a Jackson Hole wildlife private safari shaped around the day’s sightings. Book your Jackson Hole wildlife safari for a close-up look at the valley’s winter wildlife.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 4.97 from 77 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Jackson Hole
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 8.7. Top 19% in Jackson Hole means it ranks in the top 19% of tours in Jackson Hole by this score.
